Charter Fishing Updates for King Mackerel out of Port Canaveral Florida
Hello,
I'm Captain Richard Bradley and this year's king mackerel fishing has been superb. My techniques for helping my anglers find and target kingfish on light tackle is an excellent way for people visiting our area near Port Canaveral to enjoy a day pulling on fish and enjoying our Florida sunshine. I only fish for king mackerel in the summer months so from June to September you'll find me fishing along our beaches in pursuit of tarpon, snook, redfish, cobia, tripletail and of course king mackerel It's been a great year of fishing in 2010 and next summer should prove to be even better as our Florida Wildlife Commission has managed the fish stocks and the king mackerel fishing is rebounding well.
As always I look forward to hearing from many of
you soon, if you need to contact Captain
Gina and set up a charter please call her at (321) 868-4953 or just
fill out the form on the left.
God Bless,

Captain Richard Bradley

"Captain Richard took me out for a day of fishing this summer of 2010 and I had a blast pulling in loads of big king mackerel while getting a tan out of Port Canaveral." Explained explains Captain Gina in the adjacent photo with her nicest king that day.
Where Is Port Canaveral Florida?
Port Canaveral is located between Daytona Beach
and Fort Pierce and is directly east of Orlando
and it's theme parks Disney,
Universal Studios and Sea World. Port Canaveral is almost dead center on Central Florida's eastern shoreline
and it's also the epicenter of fishing on it's coastline. Located thirty
minutes due east of the Orlando International Airport on
exit 52 is the small Kelly
Park where you will launch with your guide and visit such famous
locations like Mosquito
Lagoon, the Indian
River Lagoon and Banana
River Lagoon and further south to Sebastian
Inlet. The adventurous may want to visit the deep blue sea and experience
offshore
fishing and deep
sea fishing out of Port
Canaveral (four minutes east of Kelly Park). Take a look at our Central
Florida Fishing Destinations page for more information.
March 2010 King Mackerel Fishing Update
Typically March in Central Florida is known for it's wind and waves in the offshore and nearshore waters off Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, but the king mackerel fishing can be fairly good when the conditions allow you to get out to the reefs, wrecks and ridges. The real story in March is the spring migration of cobia running from their southern winter homes to the north along the eastern seaboard of the Southern states. Conditions for cobia fishing are rather infrequent this month, but if the ocean cooperates... we usually spend the morning hours pursuing kingfish and the later hours sightfishing for cobia as the sun gets high enough to spot and cast to these spectacular gamefish. If you're strickly looking for king mackerel in march, we often refer one of our charter captain friends with a larger boat that handles the rougher seasonal seas, they're more expensive but capable of smoother running in our rougher march seas. |
